CEDAW’s Imposition on Member States Is
Part of the Feminist Fraud
by Shane Flait (2011)
CEDAW, the Convention of the Elimination
of all Forms of Discrimination against
Women, is a human rights treaty for
women adopted by the United Nations. It
espouses equality and non-discrimination
based on sex and requires UN member
states to adjust their laws to abide by
it. The fraud
is that whatever laws discriminates
against men but favors women is OK with
them. Here’s a typical example…
Just like the U.S., Israel has family
court laws and procedures that
discriminate against fathers’ rights –
the right that a father has to parent
his children equally to the mother. In
the U.S. fit fathers under divorce and
paternity suits are overwhelmingly
divorced from their children as a result
of these suits and then extorted for
child support for up to 23 years for
whatever the mother wants to spend it
on.
Although U.S. family law may state that
there is a presumption of equal parental
rights, the courts almost never uphold
that parental right for fit fathers. The
family courts unconstitutionally use the
best interest of the child excuse and
the abuse excuse to deny overwhelmingly
fathers their parental rights and a host
of other rights too. Feminists have
supported and maintained these laws to
privilege women at the direct denial of
rights to fathers and other men.
In Israel, the ‘tender years doctrine’
that says that young children should
live with their mother – rather than
their father- under divorce is still the
law. This is a clear denial of equal
rights for fathers on the books! And
Israel adopted CEDAW’s principles some
20 years ago which supposedly objects to
such stereo-typical roles imposed by
society.
Recently an Israeli parliamentary
commission has recommended joint custody
of children after divorce rather than
maintain the ‘tender years’ doctrine.
You would think that the CEDAW-supporting
feminists would be happy, but, of
course, their not; they’re up in arms
against the change. And why would that
be?
Why would feminist
rage against equal parental rights for
fathers?
Feminists are against equal parental
rights for fathers because it would
undermine the almost absolute power
divorced and never-married mothers have
over their children and over their
children’s fathers. A mother can easily
alienate the father’s children from him
while using the full force of the state
to extort exorbitant payments from him
for years.
Feminists are interested in power –
women’s power - not equality. Whatever
laws favor or privilege women even at
the expense of denying fundamental
rights to men or fathers are OK with
them. Those types of laws are related to
family, the essential building block of
society and critical in the lives and
happiness of men, women and children.
Feminists have always
pushed for easy divorce, privileged
benefits for divorce and never-married
women, and abuse laws specifically
geared for women’s use. They’ve helped
create divorce and domestic abuse laws
that work against assuring equal
parental rights for fit fathers and
against due process for fathers that
would protect their rights under divorce
and abuse complaints.
The growing number of
fatherless families and the accompanying
social pathologies of western cultures
follow closely on the workings of
feminism in the family courts in the
U.S. and elsewhere. It’s not due to men
not taking responsibility as the
feminists’ propaganda and their divorce
and domestic violence industry would
have everyone believe. It’s the direct
denial of a father’s rights to his
children and their care and custody that
feminists support and maintain for their
own empowerment.
The fraud that is
CEDAW and feminism
Countries that have acceded to CEDAW –
as has Israel - are legally bound to put
its provisions into practice
according to its treaty.
They are also committed to submit
national reports, at least every four
years, on measures they have taken to
comply with their treaty obligations.
But CEDAW has not and
will not push Israel to adopt equal
rights for fathers and mothers after
divorce. That’s not part of the real
agenda. The real agenda of feminist
organizations such as CEDAW is
empowerment of women. And that, as in so
much of feminist ideology, makes no
provision for a father’s position of
authority in the family. That would
impose on a mother’s authority which the
feminist-supported family laws currently
uphold.
That’s why CEDAW and
other state-imposed feminism is a fraud.
What it is intended to appear to be to
those it propagandizes to - it isn’t.
It’s a tyranny – a feminist tyranny to
rearrange society to the advantage of
women. It doesn’t recognize the most
fundamental rights of men - and that
includes his right to his children.
Do men have a role
in the feminst family?
Yes, keep the child
support payments coming and stay out of
the way.
